You’re probably here, because the Instagram widget that is included on one of our themes stopped working. If that is the case, for starters we’re really sorry about that! The good news is that this small article will show you how to quickly fix that.
The problem
Some days ago Instagram made some changes to their platform. Now we need to login with the user account to get the images from their feed. This means that the page element I had on my themes stopped working and there’s no point in maintaining it. Why? Because the real advantage of this element was actually to skip the authentication part. If we can’t workaround that part it is better to use a dedicated plugin for this feature.
The solution
The plugin that I’m recommending for this feature is Smash Balloon Social Photo Feed.
There’s a premium version, but if you were happy with the theme Instagram element, then the free version of this plugin is more than enough (it has already much more options). Plus, you will be able to have the exact same layout as you had before.
